The Iberg Dripstone Cave
Millions of years old, the cave with its sinter cascades and large stalagmites lies deep inside the Iberg mountain. Its unusual formation process, which involved the weathering of iron ore, and its association with historic mining make it unique in Europe.
The archeological Museum
The museum above ground is dedicated to the sensational research results from the Lichtenstein Cave located near Osterode am Harz. Nearly 3000 years ago the cave was the burial site of a Bronze Age family clan. Even living probable descendants of the family have been found.
The Iberg
The Iberg rises above Bad Grund as an impressive limestone massif – a geological rarity in the Upper Harz Mountains. 385 million years ago, it has been formed as a coral reef in the South Sea.
English Cave and Museum Tours
The entrance fee encludes a guided tour of the cave in German and an museum audio guide in English. English tours for groups or outside the normal opening hours can also be booked. A booking in advance is necessary.
